#1 - The Humble Denim Jacket
I begin here because the denim jacket is quite literally the best thing anyone can possibly own. While not only being actually a really practical jacket for almost every season (a light layer to protect from Summer/Spring breezes, or on top of other layers to add extra protection in Autumn/Winter), but it just looks cute with literally everything.
Maxi dress in summer + denim jacket = cute casual outfit for evening barbecues.
Dark jeans + knitted top + denim jacket = instant wintery cuteness meets grunge.
Fun A-Line dress + denim jacket + converse = top notch skater girl 10/10 cute factor. Watch out Avril Lavigne.
You get my drift.
The cool thing about denim jackets is regardless of the brand, they pretty much all last forever. Denim is ridiculously durable and will probably never go out of fashion, so it's worth your money to invest in one that you really love. My one is an old one of my Mum's (so I can't tell you the brand) but it's my favourite thing in my wardrobe.
From here, we move to the next must-have for any successful wardrobe.
#2 - The Leather Jacket

Sexy, badass, and completely adorable. A leather jacket (or in the case of the one pictured, a faux-leather jacket) is a complete style necessity. There are a million different shapes and styles of leather jacket but, much like the aforementioned denim jacket, they go with literally everything.
Instantly dress up your favourite jeans, favourite dress, whatever you want.
My best advice when purchasing a leather jacket is that if you're going for real leather, do your research. Leather is expensive, but is definitely worth the investment because it'll last you forever. And leather jackets will never go out of style, so it makes it even more worth while. However, it's worth scoping out your options and pricing everything out before making the decision on which jacket to grab.
The store I work in sells leather jackets, and I find that while every customer that purchases one loves theirs, the customers that are extra excited are the ones that have spent the time figuring out exactly what they want to get.

#3 - The Black Sleeveless Turtleneck.

If anything that you could possible wear screams "Sophistication" - it's this. The simple black turtle neck can step your style game from anything as low as a 1 or 2 to an instant 10/10.
Wear it with your favourite jeans and a pair of chucks.
Wear it with a pencil skirt and pumps.
Wear it with black slacks and heeled boots.
It doesn't matter. It'll look like you seriously know what you're doing, and the best part is that you don't even have to try.

I don't even think I need to explain why this is here. GET A STRIPED TOP. GET LIKE, 10. IN DIFFERENT COLOURS. DIFFERENT CUTS. I DON'T CARE. JUST GET SOME.
They go with everything.
They're freaking adorable.
They're super easy to wear.
Just... go get one. OR five.
Nuff said.
#5 - The Black Jean

By now you'll have figured out the main reason that these items made it to this list - they all go with everything. The classic black jean is no different. However, not only do they go with everything, but they're also super flexible in the type of style you can use them for, depending on what you match it with.
Dress them up with some cute pumps and a pretty top for a formal look.
